Invalid controller specified (rsslounge)

I downloaded the zip directly on my server, unzipped it and then opened the corresponding webpage in FF 3.6.12.
The installation tests on top of the page were all showing a green status and the install went well. I then tried to log in (I had set a password) but that simply didn't do anything. There was no error message or anything else, it just didn't work.

I then checked the database, tables were created and my login was in the user table as well as a hashed password.

Because nothing helped, I removed the whole directory from my server, dropped the tables from the database and reinstalled from scratch.

The installation again went well, tables were created in the database, installation tests showed 'green' status...
But now I don't even get to the login screen anymore, all I get is Invalid controller specified (rsslounge) with rsslounge being the directory I installed it into.

I re-did this various times, removing the whole directory on the server as well as the database tables, but to no avail. I also tried to enable logging and set it to DEBUG, but the logfile doesn't show anything, it's always 0 bytes.

Any ideas are really appreciated!!
